2. Purpose of the App

Credme is a loan comparison and financial information service. The App helps users compare loan-related offers, review loan information, use financial tools such as a loan calculator, and access educational content such as FAQs and other helpful resources.

Credme is not a lender and does not issue loans, approve loans, provide credit, or make final lending decisions. Loan offers are provided by third-party lenders, financial partners or other external providers. If you choose to continue with an offer, you may be redirected to a third-party provider’s website or service. The provider’s own terms, conditions, eligibility rules and privacy policy apply independently from this Privacy Policy.

We aim to display offers from licensed and reviewed partners. However, the availability of lenders, partners, offers, interest rates, fees, repayment terms, eligibility criteria and other conditions may change over time and may vary depending on the selected country, partner policies and applicable local laws and regulations.

Credme may receive compensation or commission from partners when users interact with or apply for offers through the App. This compensation does not change the functionality of the App, the way the App is displayed, or the clarity of the information presented to users.

3. Categories of Data We Process

Depending on how you use the App, we may process the following categories of data.

3.1 Information You Provide

We may process information that you provide directly, including:

  • Your email address, if you create an account manually or sign in using email verification.
  • Verification-related information required to authenticate your account, such as one-time verification codes sent by email.
  • Basic profile details received through Google Sign-In, such as your email address and a unique account identifier, used for authentication and account management.
  • Messages or information you send to us when contacting customer support or submitting app-related questions.
  • Preferences you set in the App, such as notification settings, saved favourites, country selection or other app settings.

3.2 Automatically Collected Information

For operational, security, analytics, stability and performance purposes, we may automatically collect:

  • Device information, such as device model, operating system, app version, language settings and general technical configuration.
  • Anonymous or pseudonymous technical identifiers, such as app instance identifiers, device or installation identifiers and push notification tokens.
  • Crash logs, error reports, diagnostics and performance data.
  • App interaction data, such as screens viewed, features used, session data, clicks, navigation events and other usage events needed to understand and improve App functionality.
  • Security-related logs used to prevent misuse, protect accounts and maintain the reliability of the App.

3.3 Firebase, Google Services and Google Sign-In

The App may use Google services, including Firebase services, to operate securely and reliably. These services may include Firebase Authentication, Google Sign-In, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Analytics and/or Firebase Performance Monitoring.

These services may process data such as email address, unique user identifiers, device or installation identifiers, push notification tokens, app usage events, crash logs, diagnostics and performance information. The exact data processed depends on the services enabled in the App and the user’s device and permission settings.

3.4 Push Notifications

With your permission, the App may send push notifications. These may include service-related notifications, account-related messages, reminders, updates about App functionality, or relevant information related to loan comparison and financial tools.

To deliver push notifications, we may process device or app identifiers, such as push notification tokens. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings or, where available, through the App’s notification settings.

3.5 Email Communications

We may use your email address to send service-related messages, account or security notifications, verification codes, responses to support requests and other App-related communications.

Where permitted by law and, where required, with your consent, we may also send relevant updates or informational emails related to the App. You can opt out of optional email communications at any time by using the unsubscribe option in the email, changing available settings in the App, or contacting us at [email protected]. Essential service, security or account-related emails may still be sent where necessary.

3.6 Calculator Functionality

Financial calculations entered into in-app calculators are processed locally on your device, unless explicitly stated otherwise. Calculator inputs are not stored on our servers.

3.7 Special Categories of Data

We do not intentionally request or process sensitive personal data such as banking credentials, national identification numbers, precise location data, health data or special categories of personal data under GDPR. If such information is submitted voluntarily, it will only be processed where strictly necessary for the relevant functionality, support request, legal obligation or legitimate security purpose.

4. Why We Process Your Data

We may process personal data for the following purposes:

  • Account registration, authentication and account management.
  • Email verification and Google Sign-In authentication.
  • Providing, maintaining and improving App functionality.
  • Displaying loan comparison information, tools, filters, favourites and user preferences.

We do not use personal data for unrelated purposes.

  • Consent: where consent is required, such as for optional communications, certain analytics, push notifications or similar features.
  • Compliance with legal obligations: where processing is required by applicable law or legally binding requests.

6. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell personal data.

Personal data may be shared only in the following cases:

  • With trusted service providers that support the App, such as hosting providers, authentication providers, Firebase/Google services, technical analytics providers, crash reporting services and support tools. These providers process data under appropriate contractual and data protection safeguards.
  • With third-party lenders, financial partners or offer providers only where this is necessary for a feature you choose to use, for example when you continue to a partner offer or submit information directly to a third-party provider. Their own privacy policies and terms apply independently.
  • When required by applicable law, regulation, court order or a legally binding governmental request.
  • To protect the rights, security and integrity of the App, users, partners or the public, where legally permitted.

If the App includes third-party links, referral offers or partner websites, those external websites operate independently. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content or terms of third-party websites.

7. International Transfers

As a Germany-based company, we generally process personal data within the European Economic Area (EEA). If personal data is processed outside the EEA, appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms, are implemented where required by applicable data protection law.

8. Data Retention Periods

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

Typical retention periods include:

  • Account information: stored while your account remains active. After an account deletion request, data is deleted or anonymised unless retention is legally required.
  • Support communication: retained for up to 12 months after the last interaction, unless a longer period is necessary for legal, security or dispute-resolution purposes.
  • Technical logs, crash logs and diagnostics: usually retained for up to 180 days for security, debugging and performance purposes, unless a longer period is necessary.
  • Push notification tokens and device identifiers: retained for as long as needed to provide notifications and App functionality, or until they expire, are replaced, or the user disables notifications or deletes the account.
  • Calculator inputs: not stored on our servers.

Credme-related web pages may use essential cookies and similar technologies required for session management, security and website functionality.

We currently do not use marketing cookies. If this changes, users will be informed and, where required, asked for consent.

12. Age Restrictions

Credme is intended for individuals who are at least 18 years old or the age of legal majority in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that personal data from a minor has been collected, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

13. Responsible Borrowing and Third-Party Offers

Credme provides comparison and informational tools only. The App does not guarantee loan approval, availability of offers, specific rates, fees, terms or eligibility. Final terms are determined by the relevant third-party lender or provider.

Users should review all terms carefully, consider their ability to repay, and borrow responsibly before applying for or accepting any loan offer.
